The data presented in these graphs reflects the retirement homes that were licensed at the time of outbreak.

Licensed retirement homes are required to report COVID-19 outbreaks to the RHRA at the same time they are reported to their public health unit.

Data is based on self-reports from licensed retirement homes to the RHRA as of April 3, 2020, in accordance with retirement homes' regulatory obligations. The data collected by RHRA prior to April 3, 2020 is from independent reports, media scans and research. The dashboard includes the data collected by RHRA prior to April 3, 2020 and the data self-reported by licensed retirement homes following this date.

A COVID-19 outbreak is defined as one positive case among either a licensed retirement home resident or staff and are declared by the local public health unit. The RHRA confirms the outbreak status with the public health units before posting them in this report.
